Easter Seals Salutes its Partners and Friends

Easterseals is fortunate to have many generous partners and friends who share our belief that people with disabilities should have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play. Their ongoing support has enabled countless children and adults with disabilities and their families in Massachusetts to benefit from Easter Seals services.

CVS Health

CVS Health is a national and local sponsor for Walk With Me and its employees are regular participants.  The company hosts many other events to support Easter Seals Massachusetts, as well.  A firm believer in the benefits of a diverse workforce, CVS Health also hires Easter Seals clients to work at its stores.

Comcast Foundation

Grants from the Comcast Foundation sustain a wide range of assistive technology programs for youth with disabilities, helping them improve their literacy skills and learn how assistive technology can benefit them at home, at school and at work.  Comcast also has provided free airtime to spread the word about Easter Seals services.

Commerce Bank

For more than 35 years, Commerce Bank has been a valued banking partner for Easter Seals Massachusetts.

EMC Corporation

EMC is a leader in disability awareness and a great friend of Easter Seals programs for youth with disabilities.  Members of the EMC Disability Employee Resource Group served as career mentors at the Youth Leadership Forum, visited Easter Seals summer camp and boosted the Youth Leadership Network’s “Don’t Dis Ability” campaign.  EMC is an important Evening of Empowerment sponsor, and staff members serve on the Easter Seals board of directors and regional board.

Laddawn

Generous, company-wide support from Laddawn has made it a leading Easter Seals benefactor.  Creative fundraising by employees ranges from bowling tournaments to art auctions.  Laddawn Co-President Ladd Lavallee started as an 18-year-old volunteer and went on to become chair of the Easter Seals board.  The company also has hired Easter Seals clients as interns and employees.

Microsoft

Microsoft has made significant donations of software and hardware, and financial contributions to Easter Seals, and is a major sponsor of the Evening of Empowerment gala.  A staff member serves on the Easter Seals board, and its employees regularly offer their time and talent to Easter Seals.  Microsoft also consults with Easter Seals’ assistive technology specialists on how to improve its products for people with disabilities.

The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission

MRC and Easter Seals work hand in hand to provide equal opportunities for people with disabilities.  The partnership enabled Easter Seals to create and grow its nationally known Assistive Technology program.  MRC also partners with Easter Seals in placing people with disabilities in jobs and supports the statewide Youth Leadership Network.

Nuance Communications

With input from the Easter Seals assistive technology staff over the last 25 years, Nuance’s Dragon NaturallySpeaking software has become an important tool for people with disabilities.  Nuance also is a major sponsor for the Evening of Empowerment gala, and one of its executive serves on the Easter Seals board of directors.

Team Hoyt

Legendary athletes Dick and Rick Hoyt are longtime Easter Seals champions.  In 2006, Team Hoyt ran their 25th Boston Marathon to benefit Easter Seals services.  They also promote Easter Seals as public speakers and honorary Walk With Me chairmen, and Rick demonstrates assistive technology at Easter Seals events.  Hoyt Foundation grants support a wide range of vital programs.

The TJX Companies

TJX is a great employer for people with disabilities.  Its companies have hired numerous Easter Seals clients, found just the right jobs for them and encouraged them to succeed.  A $50,000 grant from the TJX Foundation is helping to support Easter Seals employment programs, particularly those that help youth with disabilities make the transition from school to work.
