Easterseals Massachusetts Military & Veteran programs strive to ensure that members of our military and Veteran community adjust back into our communities after their service. The Military & Veteran program is currently undergoing a transition phase. Below are resources for Veterans to find information on various resources and activities in Massachusetts.
Current Activities
- Therapeutic Services & Hippotherapy: At The Bridge Center, we offer customized Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Pathology services with unique treatment options to help each client meet their personal goals. Click here for more information.
- Veteran Equine Sessions: Connect with other Veterans while learning about horsemanship with Finn, the horse adopted by Bridgewater-based VFW Post 2125. Check back soon for upcoming sessions.
- Equine Engagement: Military and Veteran personnel are invited to join us at The Bridge Center on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for an Equine Engagement Session. Facilitated by a Mental Health Counselor and Occupational Therapist from the Brockton VA, this session provides participants an opportunity to experience the power and presence of horses in a tranquil, supportive atmosphere. Attendance is free and preregistration is required by emailing equestriancenter@eastersealsma.org.
Community Resources
- Warrior Wellness: An adaptive fitness class for Veterans of all ages and abilities held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the YMCA in Westborough. Participants report improvements in strength, flexibility, endurance, and balance, and, they have fun being challenged as part of a group. This program is coordinated by the Boroughs Family Branch YMCA, and is free for members; nonmembers may start a free trial membership to try out the class. - World’s Best Veterans Coffee Hour: Perhaps the most well-attended Veteran coffee hour in Massachusetts, this event offers new topics each month where subject matter experts tell participants about their relevant programs and services, and answer questions. This program is coordinated by Vincent F. Picard American Legion Post 234 in Northborough, MA. Click here for more information.
- BC4T Veterans Food Pantry & More: Provides free food and hygiene products to current military, Veterans, Gold Star family members, and widows/widowers. Primarily used by seniors living on a fixed income and parents of young children, it feels more like a community meeting place than a food pantry! This program is coordinated by Boros Cares 4 Troops Veterans and Vincent F. Picard American Legion Post 234 in Northborough, MA. Click here for more information.
