Maria Capuano M.Ed., BCBA, LABA

Dana

Maria is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has over 20 years’ experience in human services. Maria received her BA in psychology from Worcester State University and her M.Ed. from Cambridge College. Maria has worked in a variety of settings such as group homes, early intervention, day programs and home therapy, both with children and adults. She also owned and operated a dance studio which offered dance to children and adults with varying abilities. Maria joined Easter Seals MA in September 2017 and kicked off the new service offered through Rehabilitation Services.

Dana Howell, M.Ed., BCBA, LABA

Dana earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, both from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. From there she gained experience working in the field of Special Education after being employed in both the public and private sectors. During that time, Dana also completed the coursework and supervision required to gain certification in the field of Behavioral Intervention. She became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in May 2016.

Kurt Carlson, BCBA, LABA

Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Kurt has lived in Rhode Island for most of his life. Kurt started working in Human Services in 1989 while earning his BS in Wildlife Biology and Management from the University of Rhode Island.

His work in Human Services coupled with the strong scientific background led to an interest in the study of Behavior. Kurt earned a certificate for completion of coursework to become an Associate Behavior Analyst through the May Institute and Fitchburg State in 2009 and completed a Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis from Salve Regina University to become a BCBA (2017) and is licensed as a BCBA in the states of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Kurt has worked extensively in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. His experience ranges from working in public and private schools, early intervention, adult services and providing home-based services and programming to families in both states. He has worked in all of these settings in a variety of roles and most significantly in the realms of challenging behaviors.  He has been a CPI certified Trainer and a QBS Safety Care Trainer. Kurt has joined the Easterseals MA team in January 2018.
