MENTORING PROGRAMS AT EASTERSEALS


THRIVE: EMPOWERING YOUNG WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES

Thrive is a mentoring program for women with disabilities 14 and up. Through both group and one-to-one match relationships, each participant will have the opportunity to develop the skills of self-empowerment and to promote personal achievement and self-identity within a community of other women with disabilities.

Activities include quarterly community groups as well as a two day overnight retreat in June.

BROTHERS AGAINST DISCRIMINATION (B.A.D.):
EMPOWERING YOUNG MEN WITH DISABILITIES

Join our mentoring program B.A.D.! Brothers Against Discrimination (B.A.D.) is a mentoring program for men 14 and up with disabilities. Just like the female Thrive, through both group and one-to-one match relationships, each participant will have the opportunity to develop the skills of self-empowerment and to promote personal achievement and self-identity within a community of other men with disabilities. 

Activities include quarterly community groups as well as a two day overnight retreat in June.

YOUTH RETREAT WEEKEND

"Thrive" and "B.A.D" participants have the opportunity to take part in a two-day overnight retreat. At the retreat you will have the opportunity to hear from a dynamic group of women with disabilities as well as build relationships with others in the program. There will also be a community luncheon with the participants of the male mentorship program as well as Career Exploration volunteers.

The 2019 Retreat will be held June 21st – 22nd at Bridgewater State University.  Accommodations such as PCA and transportation needs for the overnight retreat will be provided as needed. Participation in the program is free.

CAREER EXPLORATION PROGRAM

Our Career Exploration Program for young adults with disabilities is an opportunity to learn about different career paths through group and one-to-one relationships. The goal is to develop self-empowerment and to promote personal achievement, as well as better identify future career goals. Leaders in various career fields in the community will be taking part in career mentor activities which will help youth better understand the world of work. Youth ages 14 to 26 are encouraged to join throughout the year.
