Featured Guest: Carrie McDonald

Carrie McDonald is a Talent Acquisition Director at MassMutual and oversees the recruiting strategy for Corporate functions and the Early Career recruiting strategy across the company. She is a graduate of the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts as well as a certificate holder as a Leader in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the workplace from the University of South Florida. Carrie has worked specifically in the disability recruiting space for the past 13 years. Although Carrie is not a person with a disability, she has a son with a learning disability which has helped her fuel her passion as an ally and advocate in this space.

Panelists:

Simon López works for Enterprise Cyber Security as the Program Owner for Cyber Talent and Development. He stands up new initiatives that help to manage a diverse cyber security talent pipeline and creates new talent and development initiatives to support career growth and cyber resilience among our current and future ECS employees. Before working at MassMutual he worked for the Employment Network of New Jersey where he did skills training for individuals with disabilities. He also ran an internship program for high school students with disabilities to provide work readiness and training services before they graduated.

Sandra Martins has a Master’s in Criminal Justice. She is currently working in Fraud, where she considers herself the “middle person.” She does research, investigations, and determines if something is fraud, and refers specific cases to other investigation areas for further research. Per Sandra – “Digital/cyber fraud is so interesting, it makes my job fun!”

Thomas Curran is a Certified Fraud Examiner who has over 25 years of fraud operations. investigative, audit, and investment experience within the financial services industry. He joined MassMutual in 1996 and became a consultant for the Investment Section of MassMutual’s Corporate Audit Department. In 2001, Tom joined Corporate Audit’s Investigation Section, which focused on financial crimes. In 2009, he joined the Investigations and Dispute Resolution Unit of MassMutual’s Law Division. Tom is currently a Fraud Strategy Consultant within Fraud Operations of MassMutual’s Insurance Operations Department.

James Villalobos is a Cyber Journalist/Cyber Security Communications consultant with MassMutual. Prior to joining the company and changing careers entirely, James was a local news reporter working at stations in California and Massachusetts.

Cindy Belmore is the Head of the Investigations Unit at MassMutual, leading a team of anti-fraud professionals responsible for investigating potential insurance fraud and financial crimes. Cindy has been with MassMutual since 2005, and prior to her current position, held numerous roles within the Compliance & Ethics organization. Cindy received a BS in Business Management from Ithaca College and an MBA from Baruch College.

Jennifer Taylor works for MassMutual in the Employee Services & Special Events department. Currently, she is a Business Operations Specialist focused on Reservation Management. In this role she coordinates the meeting and enterprise event spaces for the Boston campus, develops procedures that streamline the reservation process, and works closely with associates to help them find the best space for their conference or event. In addition, she is the Relationship Manager for the Enterprise Employee Discount program.
