Desma served over 14 years in the U.S. Navy as a Logistics Specialist managing areas such as supply, finance, accounting and budgeting while achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer and leading a team of 65 sailors. After retiring from the Navy, Desma had no confidence in finding work as a civilian. She came across the Easterseals Bob Hope Support Program when searching for resources.
