ADA 30th Anniversary Marquee

During the challenging times of COVID-19, we are reminded of how important it is to create a world where each and every one of us is 100% included in all aspects of society, especially in obtaining access to health care, education and employment. We celebrate the progress the ADA has made for people with disabilities and acknowledge the work that lies ahead.

In Memory of George Floyd

"I write to you today acknowledging the deep fear, frustration, sadness, anger, internal conflict, and other emotions so many of us are feeling now in the wake of the murder of George Floyd. While we don't all share the same life experiences, we do share a deep commitment to doing all we can to address systemic racism and move our country forward." - Jon Horowitch, President and CEO of Easterseals DC MD VA

Candid Conversations: Balancing Self-Care, Career, and Childcare During a Pandemic

On July 14th, we were pleased to host a virtual Candid Conversations event about balancing self-care, career and childcare during COVID-19. During the webinar, our esteemed panel spoke about the many challenges we are currently facing: maintaining physical health and wellness; caring for children while working remotely full time; racial disparities in health care; the mental health struggles that result from social distancing; and the importance of staying home to save lives.

Stories From Our Clients

James
James' Story

James began receiving child care at Easterseals when he was about 4 months old. His parents had noticed that his leg turned in slightly since birth; shortly before starting at Easterseals, it was discovered that James had a condition known as bilateral congenital pseudoarthrosis of the tibia.

Mikey
Mikey's Story

For most families, the birth of a child is a joyous occasion. For the Inzeo family, Mikey’s birth was a day of emotional struggle, and fear of the unknown. Mike (Mikey's father) was trying to do it all for his family, and was quickly burning out. He needed help, and Easterseals was there to help him.
