Respite for families is proven to be an effective service to support and prevent caregiver burnout, and to foster a healthier quality of life. Easterseals Respite Services provide critical support to wounded warriors, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and civilian families, and families of children with and without disabilities. With respite care, parents and other caregivers can focus on themselves and each other, daily responsibilities, and other loved ones to keep their families healthy and strong. Caregivers also benefit from decreased stress, greater family togetherness, connection with other caregivers, and emotional and social support.

Respite Program Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers and children participate in fun, hands-on, and engaging activities. We pair volunteers with a child based on their mutual interests and the volunteer’s skills and comfort level. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for active and mobile participation. Bring your creativity and energy. Volunteers are required to complete forms including, but not limited to, a getting-to-know-you interview and background check. There will be an orientation and tour prior to the families arriving. Enjoy making a difference in your community. Come for raffles, snacks, and volunteer appreciation incentives. Corporate and community volunteer groups welcome. Contact respite@eseal.org for more information.
