Volunteers Needed!
Monthly Saturday Center-Based Respite Care
Easterseals offers center-based respite care one Saturday a month for wounded warriors, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and civilian families, and families of children with and without disabilities. Each weekend respite event is planned to include a different monthly theme and ensure a variety of interactive activities. Children ages 6 months to 10 years old receive one-on-one care from vetted volunteers, who are carefully selected to ensure a successful pairing between the child and volunteer.
Respite days take place one Saturday a month at the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Inter-Generational Center in Silver Spring, MD, and can involve entertainers and a variety of other engaging hands-on activities.
This program is dependent on the number of volunteers that sign up. Space is limited and your family may be placed on a waiting list until we find the best volunteer to be matched with your child.

About the Robert Irvine Foundation
The Robert Irvine Foundation is focused on giving back and supporting military personnel (active, retired, and veterans) and first responders through resiliency and health and wellness programs, in addition to financial support of top-rated and thoroughly vetted veterans service and first responder organizations.
Robert “Bob” Wilson believed in a hopeful, inclusive community for children with disabilities, “Little Warriors” – children of wounded warriors – and those who care for them.
Thanks to the generous support of the Robert Irvine Foundation, the Robert S. Wilson, Jr. Community Respite Program through Easterseals continues Bob’s legacy of leadership and volunteerism by providing critical support to these families.
