Job Seeker Services:

Customized Employment (individual placement only, no contract work, no subminimum wage):

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Customized Employment may include employment developed through job carving, self-employment or entrepreneurial initiatives, or other job development or restructuring strategies that result in job responsibilities being customized and individually negotiated to fit the needs of individuals with a disability. Our service assists job seekers with finding jobs tailored to his or her unique talents. This may include a job carved out to suit specific abilities, self-employment, or entrepreneurship.

Supported Employment:

Supported Employment services assist job seekers to find work in businesses--at minimum wage or higher--based on their skills and interests. Support services are available when needed to help learn and perform the work. Department of Rehabilitation provides Supported Employment services to job seekers with regional centers.

Direct Placement:

Direct Placement supports individuals to get a job that meets his or her ideal employment conditions by:

Coaching:

Our coaches meet regularly with the worker, on the job or before/after, for a specific period of time, to help him/her learn the necessary skills to perform independently. As the worker gains mastery of the job, the coaching is gradually phased out.

Donate to support WorkFirst's effort to secure meaningful employment for those with disabilities.
