Digital Inclusion Week is an annual campaign to bring attention to the need for digital inclusion and equity in our communities.

The Los Angeles Public Library is among the organizations committed to helping bridge the digital divide by providing resources and access to technology year-round. It provides:

•    Internet access and computers for public use at all 73 library locations
•    Lend a variety of technology items through our Tech2go program
•    Offer classes for all age groups and skill levels

All Hotspot Distribution Drives are part of The Angeleno Connectivity Trust which provides free  internet service to K-12 students and youth in Los Angeles who need to stay connected online to classes and essential support services. Attend this in person event and walk out with a free hotspot with 5 years of service and 100GB of internet access per year.

Does A Student in Your Household Need a WIFI Hotspot for School?

Request one through the Angeleno Connectivity Trust (ACT) Program. The hotspot is free, and there’s no financial obligation.

This is an extraordinary initiative providing 100GB per year of free internet service for the next five years for up to 18,000 students in Los Angeles who are struggling to stay connected online to classes and essential support services.

Who is Eligible?

K-12 students who meet the following requirements are eligible:
1. Live in or attend school in the City of Los Angeles, or receive services from any one of our regional partners
(including YouthSource, FamilySource Centers, and many community organizations like School on Wheels and the YMCA).
2. The student is (only one of these is needed):
a. Homeless, housing insecure, or living in unstable housing
b. Foster youth
c. Student with a disability
d. Student who has dropped out of school or is having trouble staying in school this year due to the lack of internet connectivity
3. Have not already received a T-Mobile hotspot provided by LAUSD

How Do I Sign Up?

2. Leave your contact number on the Hotline Voicemail
3. Expect a return call from a Library Team Member who will help you sign up for the Angeleno Connectivity Trust WiFi hotspot program. There is absolutely no financial commitment and the device and 5-year internet is free.
4. Plan to pick up your device from the assigned L.A. Public Library location following COVID-safe practices. (The location will be communicated by the Librarian.)
