Individuals who participate with Easter Seals Adult Day Services in Riverside heard the horrible news about the shooting at the Inland Regional Center. They came in each day seeking more details from the program director and staff. They had all visited the Regional Center campus at some point to attend parties or check out the Arts and Crafts Fair or other social gatherings. Some had visited the Regional Center library. They also knew that their social workers came from there.
Easter Seals staff showed them news story video clips and answered their questions. They were told that their social workers were okay, but the regional center was going to be closed for a while so they could not go there.
When they found out about the memorial tribute on the corner of Waterman Avenue and Orange Show Road, they wanted to pay a visit. They even bought flowers to set at the memorial.
“It was emotional for all of us,” said Edna Napier, Program Director, Easter Seals Southern California. “We didn’t think it would be a big thing since it wasn’t a memorial service, but clearly everyone was touched by the visit.”
