Family Navigation and Support Groups
Family Navigation
Offered in St. Louis and Kansas City regions.
When parents first learn their child has autism, they can feel lost, confused, and overwhelmed. Our professional Family Navigators are here to support families by creating an individualized plan that will allow their child to live a full, engaging life in the community.
Additionally, our navigators are here to support adults with disabilities, including autism, as they prepare to enter the workforce. Our navigators will meet with them and create an individualized plan that addresses their needs and enables them to successfully enter the workforce.
Parent Support Groups
Offered in St. Louis, Southeast, Southwest, and Central regions.
Our parent support groups provide opportunities for parents to know that they are not alone. We offer parents a safe place to express their feelings, hurts, pressures, and to ask questions and share their experiences with one another.
Sibshops
Offered in St. Louis, Kansas City, Southeast, Southwest, and Central regions.
Throughout their life, siblings of those who have a disability can experience the same concerns and joys their parents do. Many brothers and sisters have feelings that are difficult to express, even to a friend. Often times, siblings of someone with a disability can't talk about their issues with others who understand - until now! In addition to receiving peer support, Sibshop participants will play games, learn about their sibling's disability, and make new friends.
