For decades, Easterseals Midwest's services for adults have placed hope and independence within reach of thousands of adults with disabilities. We provide a variety of services that empower people with disabilities to live with as much independence as possible, gain competitive employment to support themselves and their livlihoods, and be empowered to advocate for their needs and make decisions in their lives.
Community Living
We are committed to helping people with disabilities build skills to live as independently as possible in a home of their own. We offer everything from just a few hours of support a month to 24/7 care. Our team works with each family to determine the best option for services, whether that means working in the family home or helping an individual establish their own home. Community Living Services empower participants to make their own decisions about their life, including where and who they live with, pursuing hobbies, community engagement.
Employment Services
Employment services help people with disabilities find and keep competitive jobs in community businesses. Easterseals assists participants with career training; exploration and discovery; job development; on-the-job support; and job coaching and retention.
Employment Skills
For adults 18 and older who are not yet ready for employment, we offer daytime training and support Monday through Friday to develop independence, social skills, and self-advocacy with the purpose of moving program participants towards community employment or volunteerism.
Self-Determination in Action
The Self-Determination Program is designed to empower people with disabiltiies to choose self-determination in their lives, know their rights, and advocate for themselves and their needs. Thround a number of created and led by people with disabilties for people with disabilities, we're helping participants gain new independence in their lives.
