COVID-19 Training Update (4/2/2020)

Hello Everyone, 

Here is a brief update on staff training requirements during this challenging time. The safety of our employees, and supported individuals is always our top priority, and we’re closely monitoring coronavirus and will continue to modify our training program as necessary. 

Most classes will continue to take place as scheduled; however, in-person classes will have limited attendance to ensure social distancing. Additionally, the training department has expanded online class offerings, as listed below. We are making options available to ensure you can access key courses you may need. 

Current training offerings

New Employees:

1.      Mandt – on-site with reduced class size. Skills will be postponed for some participants as decided on an individual basis. (*Online lecture sessions available with approval by training department)

2.      Advanced Mandt – on-site with reduced class size

3.      CPR/FA – on-site with reduced class size

4.      Level 1 Med Training – on-site with reduced class size

5.      Day 1 NEO – on-site  with reduced class size

6.      Behavior supports, IDD, NEO Day 2 – postponed

Annual Employees:

1.      Mandt recert –  online option available and limited on-site offerings. Physical skills will be postponed for some participants as decided on an individual basis. 

2.      Advanced Mandt – on-site with reduced class size

3.      Annual Training with CPR/FA recert – online option available and limited on-site offerings

4.      Med recert – online option available and limited on-site offerings

Additional Information:

·        We are encouraging everyone to use online options first. If you would like to get set up for online training, please contact Training@esmw.org

·        There will be on-site classes set up for all training, but offerings will be reduced. 

·        There will be computer lab hours available if you would like to come to the office to use a computer to complete an online course. Contact the Training Dept at Training@esmw.org for more information.

·        We are working on having masks available for trainers and participants shortly.

·        Management is responsible for ensuring online training time is entered on your timecard.

·        Training rooms are set up with social distance spacing, cleaning supplies, and are sanitized between each class.

·        Please wash your hands often during training and use social distancing (6ft) precautions when approaching others.

·        Any classes that have been postponed during this time will need to be completed when restrictions have been lifted.
