COVID-19 Strategy Update (6/5/2020)

A message from our CEO, Wendy Sullivan

Team,

We are now into our third week of the phased approach to reopen our locations. I am happy to report that next week, we will reopen the last of our sites, the St. Louis Community Connections, and Pre-Employment programs.

As you know, the COVID-19 task force worked hard to develop the policies we needed to reopen our locations and provide programs successfully. With that, the human resources team has been working to create a document full of essential information for our staff. It will be shared with you later this afternoon; please take the time to read the materials, and don't forget to sign off on our COVID-19 policies acknowledgement in ADP.

Throughout the crisis, we have been providing a COVID-19 pay differential of $3 per hour for every direct service shift worked in Community Living. As the world returns to some normality, we will discontinue this differential on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at 11:59pm.

As we continue to navigate the so-called new normal, I want to take a moment to congratulate each of you on the accomplishments we have seen over the past few months.  Few organizations so quickly transitioned to ensure that people got the programs and support they needed.  Our telehealth programs and employment support, along with the thousands of support hours provided in Community Living, are a testament to our staff's leadership and talent.

As a reminder, the stay at home policy for Community Living is still in effect statewide until further notice. We will keep you posted on any changes.

Finally, we have been so thankful for our community's ongoing support in giving us the PPE we need to provide our programs.  This week a group of high school students spent the beginning of their summer vacation putting together face shields for us to use. They did this with their school's 3D printers, these kids printed and assembled a total of 700 face shields. We are incredibly grateful to these students and everyone who has helped support us with our PPE needs.

We will be limiting our emails regarding COVID-19 moving forward, and will only send information or updates when needed. Again, thank you for your teamwork, effort, and all of the success over these past few months. It is an honor to work with each of you.

Sincerely,

Wendy Sullivan
