COVID-19 Strategy Update (4/24/2020)

A message from our CEO, Wendy Sullivan

Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

In case you have not heard, the Governor of Missouri has announced a plan to reopen the state in the coming weeks.

We have also started developing our strategy to reopen our office locations. Our COVID-19 task force has been busy developing a tiered plan that will align with governmental guidelines. Currently, the date for each site is still unknown. In the meantime, the team has been working to coordinate a thorough disinfecting of our spaces.

We continue to work to secure the tools and equipment needed to return to these locations and will only start this process when we are sure that we can do it safely and effectively.

As you know, we have been committed to continuing to pay you during this uncertain time and have been working to secure the funds needed. Over the last two pay periods, we shared that we would keep all staff whole and that we would be in touch regarding next steps. We are pleased to share that we will continue that strategy for the pay period April 13 - 26, 2020, which pays on May 8, 2020.

We will continue to evaluate this strategy as needed moving forward. The following are a few reminders of the requirements for this supplemental pay.

·        Staff who have work available are expected to meet the requirements of their full or part-time status, if they do not, they will not receive supplemental wages and must supplement their time with PTO or go unpaid

·        Direct Support Professionals not currently working full or part-time hours will continue to be placed on our call back list and may be redeployed at any time - we will continue to supplement your pay and make you whole as long as you are available to work

·        As essential health workers, each of us may be reassigned to alternative responsibilities at any time.

·        Failure to accept reassignment will result in you being removed from our call back list; as a result, you will forfeit supplemental and PTO wages and be put on unpaid leave

·        Refusal to accept reassignment may result in your separation from Easterseals

·        PTO is not earned on supplemental wages

We hope that knowing you and your family can count on a paycheck and benefits during this challenging time helps create a sense of comfort.

As always, our commitment remains to support you and our programs with as little disruption as possible. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update you regularly.

Please remember to take care of yourself, and thank you for all you do for those who turn to us for support.

Sincerely,

Wendy Sullivan
