Silver Spring, MD — Jonathan Horowitch, Easterseals DC MD VA President & CEO, has received a Nation’s Finest 50 Award for his leadership in nonprofit services to veterans.

In his 12 years at Easterseals, Jon’s innovative approach has created holistic programming, rather than standalone services, to bring veterans and military families into the community. Under his leadership, Easterseals DC MD VA connects thousands of veterans and their families to vital services, including accessible mental healthcare, meaningful employment, and stable housing.

“I am honored to receive a Nation’s Finest 50 award,” says Horowitch. “I’ve found that building partnerships and engaging community leaders have really helped Easterseals DC MD VA respond to the veteran community’s emerging needs.”

Other awardees include Easterseals DC MD VA Honorary Board members Sen. Elizabeth Dole, Craigslist founder Craig Newmark, and actor and military supporter Gary Sinise.

“We created the Nation’s Finest 50 Award to recognize and celebrate 50 people during this anniversary year who have gone above and beyond to support our veterans,” states Nation’s Finest CEO Chris Johnson in a recent press release. “While the world has changed greatly during the past five decades since we were founded to support Vietnam veterans, the work of so many remarkable individuals and organizations continues to make a tremendous impact in helping support our veterans.”

In honoring Horowitch, Nation’s Finest recognized Easterseals’ military and veteran programs, including the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Programs, the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic, Adult Day Services, and the Veteran Staffing Network.
