Our team assists more than 800 teens and adults with disabilities as they build skills, and find and maintain competitive employment.
Easterseals Midwest's Employment Services are designed to provide you or your loved one with the skills to prepare for employment. We have a variety of programs for teens and adults alike. Through community internships and jobs, participants gain hands-on experience as they improve their skill set and prepare for competitive employment.
We believe in the abilities of people with disabilities. Through many years of experience, we have found that people with disabilities can be successfully employed in the community given a good job match and the proper level of support and structure.
Pre-Employment Services offered:
Teen Transition Services: We have a team dedicated to teen transition services, including summer teen employment, the school to work transition, and year-round employment.
Pre-Vocational Training: Our staff can assist with the following pre-vocational needs: resume-writing, interview skills, money-handling, and transportation access.
Project Search: Over nine months, young adults will develop important work skills within a community business. They will learn through classroom instruction, career exploration, and hands-on internships. Project SEARCH supports and prepares each participant to become successfully employed.
We offer Pre-Employment Services in two arrangements: Individualized Skill-Building and Group Based Skill-Building. Both arrangements will cover job skills and workplace preparation. Individualized Skill-Building helps individuals pinpoint specific skill sets in order to prepare for competitive employment. Group Based Skill-Building teaches these workplace skills in a small group setting.
