Silver Spring, MD — Easterseals DC MD VA welcomes accomplished physician and noted national health equity leader, Dr. Darrell Gray II, MD, MPH, to its distinguished Board of Directors.

As president of Wellpoint Maryland, a leading statewide coordinator of Medicaid managed healthcare benefits, Dr. Gray is responsible for all aspects of health plan operations. He is especially focused on ensuring Wellpoint’s more than 300,000 members have equitable access to high-quality care and stands committed to improving health outcomes across the state.

Baltimore native, Dr. Gray, holds distinguished academic achievements with degrees from Morehouse College and Howard University College of Medicine. His accolades extend to a completed residency at Duke University Medical Center, a gastroenterology fellowship at Washington University, and a Master’s degree in public health, achieved at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health as a Commonwealth Fund Fellow.
