Easterseals DC MD VA Announces New Senior Director of Marketing and Communications – Darlene Chapman-Holmes

Silver Spring, MD - Easterseals is pleased to announce that Darlene Chapman-Holmes has joined the organization as the new Senior Director of Marketing and Communications. A proven leader with over 20 years of industry experience in sales, marketing and communications, Darlene has worked with organizations like Viacom, NPR, and Discovery Networks and served on boards at The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Girls Inc., and International Association of Audio Information Services (IAAIS), an organization that connects and supports organizations for people with disabilities worldwide.

Prior to joining Easterseals DC MD VA, Darlene was an independent consultant for a number of clients in the non-profit space providing critical expertise in digital media, sales, and marketing. She also served as Director of Marketing and Communications at Saval Foods Corporation and Deli Brands of America where she was responsible for corporate marketing and communications for the regional food distributor and national meat manufacturer and distributor.  

Darlene also has experience as head of marketing at National Investment Center for Seniors in Housing and Care, as well extensive experience working with nonprofit and for-profit media organizations. While with NPR, she was responsible for generating millions of dollars and distributing equipment for the Public Radio Satellite Service to hundreds of public radio and television stations. For the cable television industry including Viacom, BET, and Discovery Networks, Darlene led teams in affiliate sales, digital marketing, and business development, as well as managed teams in customer service, creative service, research and communications. 

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Darlene has shared her talents with several organizations, including Cable Television Association of Marketers, The Executive Leadership Council, National Association of Minorities in Communications, Women in Cable Telecommunications, and sits on the board of the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

Chapman-Holmes holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Maryland.
