Easterseals DC MD VA Welcomes New Members to Board of Directors

Nancie Lynch and Joseph F. Sifer Elected at Start of FY23

Silver Spring, MD — Easterseals DC MD VA welcomes Nancie Lynch and Joseph F. Sifer to its Board of Directors.

“We are thrilled to have the leadership of Joe and Nancie on our Board,” says Jon Horowitch, President and CEO of Easterseals DC MD VA. “They embody our organization’s commitment to full equity, inclusion, and access for children and adults, no matter their disability, military status, income, race, or age.”

Nancie LynchNancie Lynch is the Executive Director of the Richard E. and Nancy P. Marriott Foundation, the Nancy Peery Marriott Foundation, and the Marriott Daughters Foundation. Over the past 18 years, she has taken these foundations from grant-making entities to impactful foundations that support our community through mindful partnerships. The foundations’ focus on education and youth enables her to further her vision that all children deserve the same opportunities, regardless of their backgrounds. Her passion is driven from her own experiences. As a child of immigrant parents, Ms. Lynch went to public school in a small town and then became the first in her family to earn a college degree. She currently serves on the board of the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers and Leadership Greater Washington.

“Easterseals is serving areas of great need, not just with military families but also others in need. I have spent my career trying to help make communities better through increasing economic mobility and by closing the achievement gap to give every child the same opportunity, regardless of their background,” says Ms. Lynch. “I believe Easterseals is a huge part of that work, and I want to help increase its impact in those communities.”

Ms. Lynch holds an MBA in Business from the University of Maryland University College and a BS in Finance & International Business from the Salisbury University Perdue School of Business.

She resides in Salisbury, MD with her husband and daughter.
