The Easter Seals Serving DC|MD|VA Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Jonathan Horowitch has been unanimously selected to become the President and CEO in February 2017 upon the retirement of Lisa Reeves, who has served in the position for 17 years. Mr. Horowitch has served as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer for the past five years, a period of growth and innovation at Easter Seals.

“It is an honor to follow in Lisa’s footsteps as CEO of our great organization, working to make profound, positive differences in the way people view disabilities and special needs,” said Mr. Horowitch. “I am excited to lead our dedicated board and staff as we create solutions for emerging needs – ensuring children with special needs realize their full potential, keeping seniors in the community and out of institutions, supporting caregivers in their vital and unsung role, and fully integrating veterans and military family members into our vibrant community.”

“Jon’s dedication and commitment to Easter Seals, along with his leadership, compassion and business acumen, have helped grow our organization as we work to achieve our mission of ensuring that all people with disabilities or special needs have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities,” said Marta Wilson, Easter Seals Serving DC|MD|VA Chairman of the Board and CEO of Transformation Systems, Inc. “Lisa and Jon have been strong partners for many years, and I am excited that Easter Seals Serving DC|MD|VA will have a seamless transition as we deliver so many critical services for the community every day.”

“Jon was identified early in his tenure as COO as a uniquely talented leader and prospective successor once I retired,” said Ms. Reeves. “His appointment ensures that we will continue progress against our strategic plan and realize our vision of being the region’s leading provider of intensive intergenerational human services that address the holistic and evolving needs of individuals and families to maximize their independence, inclusion and contributions to society.”

Before joining Easter Seals, Mr. Horowitch had a long career in the for-profit sector at leading companies including Capital One, Global Crossing, Credit Suisse, and AT Kearney and served on the Easter Seals Serving DC|MD|VA Board of Directors as well as other volunteer positions. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and with honors in History from Williams College.
