Child Development Center Receives Repairs and Upgrades at No Cost

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 2, 2022

Silver Spring, MD — Easterseals DC MD VA and John C. Flood of VA — two long-time community institutions — came together recently to improve conditions for the children and staff at one facility.

John C. Flood representatives have completed a variety of repairs to the Easterseals Child Development Center in Washington, DC — at no charge to the organization. Dating from 1959, the building is the oldest of the four Easterseals child development centers and maintenance costs have been mounting.

On a warm August day, the John C. Flood technician inspected the kitchen and bathrooms, fixed leaks, unblocked pipes, and even installed a new dishwasher. Because Easterseals serves a vulnerable population, the worth of these services far exceeds the dollar value.

“Easterseals is so grateful to John C. Flood for these repairs,” said Jon Horowitch, President & CEO of Easterseals DC MD VA. “Part of the Easterseals vision is to create a hopeful community. Thanks to these needed repairs and upgrades from John C. Flood, the children who attend our Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Child Development Center and their families will continue to feel the hope that comes with reliable, compassionate care at a child development center that offers the highest level of comfort.”

For over 100 years, John C. Flood has been solving heating, cooling, electrical, and plumbing problems for generations of families in the Washington, DC area. The company is committed to giving back to the community, recently gifting one needy household with a new HVAC system in partnership with Easterseals and WUSA9.

“John C. Flood is honored and privileged to partner again with Easterseals,” said Chris Thompson, VP, Marketing & Integrations for John C. Flood. “For over 100 years, our two organizations have strived to make comfortable living more affordable and accessible for our communities. With these repairs, we hope to improve the lifestyle of the families of the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Child Development Center and inspire others to come together to build a better tomorrow.”
