Dear Easterseals Community,

We are both deeply saddened by the tragic events unfolding in our nation. Please see below the message from Jon that was distributed to our staff earlier today acknowledging the feelings that many are experiencing and the opportunity to share perspectives. If you have any questions or thoughts, please reach out to us.

Sincerely,

Dear Easterseals Colleagues,

I write to you today acknowledging the deep fear, frustration, sadness, anger, internal conflict, and other emotions so many of us are feeling now in the wake of the murder of George Floyd. While we don't all share the same life experiences, we do share a deep commitment to doing all we can to address systemic racism and move our country forward.

First, I state unequivocally that Easterseals does not tolerate racism in any form.

Second, as the CEO of an organization dedicated to achieving our Vision of creating a hopeful, inclusive community where all individuals realize their potential and live meaningful lives, I recognize that this tragedy is a further demonstration of the importance of our work. I value every member of our community.

Third, I am here to listen and learn. Please share your ideas on how Easterseals can enhance racial equity more quickly by reaching out to your manager or our racial equity mailbox at racialequity@eseal.org.

Thank you for your support of Easterseals’ Mission and Vision. Please be safe and take good care.

Sincerely,

Jon
President and CEO
