Hagerstown Center Activities Director Recognized by State of Maryland

Hagerstown Center Activities Director with Certificate

Easter Seals is proud to announce that Deborah Lauricella, Activities and Assistant Director of our Hagerstown Adult Day Services center was recently recognized by the State of Maryland as an Honorable Mention Direct Support Professional for 2017. The second week of September is marked throughout the country as Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, and the state Department of Disabilities and Developmental Disabilities Administration celebrate the week by recognizing and thanking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for their dedication and expertise. DSPs make a crucial difference when it comes allowing those with disabilities and special needs to live a fulfilling life in the community.

Elizabeth Barnes, Senior Director of Adult and Senior Services for Easter Seals, joined with Hagerstown Center Director Carolyn Kaeser to present Deborah with the certificate issued by the agencies to honor her accomplishment, and extend congratulations to Lauricella on behalf of the organization’s leadership and Board of Directors.

"Debbie puts all of her heartfelt energy into caring for our clients,” said Kaeser.  “She is so kind and compassionate, making sure that everyone is able to participate and feel cared for. We are proud of her well-deserved accomplishment!"

Lauricella was humbled to learn that her colleagues had nominated her for the recognition. "It is such an honor to be recognized for something that I love to do,” she said. “My work at Easter Seals has been so fulfilling and I look forward to every day assisting our clients and their families to help improve their quality of life."
