Easter Seals Serving DC|MD|VA Says Farewell and Celebrates Former VP of Veteran Services

Bob

On Thursday, June 29th, Easter Seals Serving DC|MD|VA leadership and staff members celebrated Robert (Bob) Simpson and his six years of service as Vice President of Military and Veteran Operations at Easter Seals.

The farewell was held at the Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation Adult Day Services in the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Inter-Generational Center in Silver Spring.

Bob served as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps for 24 years. Since retiring from the military in 1993, he has dedicated himself to helping homeless veterans.  During his tenure with Easter Seals, Bob was instrumental in helping homeless veterans, female veterans, veterans with families, and incarcerated veterans with finding their path to long-term success with support from the U.S. Department of Labor. He and his team provided services to veterans in Maryland's Baltimore, Prince George's and Montgomery Counties; Northern Virginia areas of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties; and Washington DC.

In recognition of Bob’s achievements with the local veteran community, he  received the Meritorious Service Award from the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) at the 2016 NCHV Annual Conference in Washington, D.C

We thank Bob for his leadership and commitment to embracing the challenges of the community, and improving the lives of veterans and their families.
