Families and Caregivers

There are many types of caregivers, because the term caregiver refers to anyone who provides help to another person in need. What caregivers share in common is they take time and energy to care for a loved one. Easterseals focuses on resources for unpaid or informal caregiving, which accounts for the majority of all care provided.

Easterseals DC MD VA Services for Caregivers

Respite Services supports caregivers from civilian and military families. The Robert S. Wilson Community Respite Program provides center-based respite care at Easterseals for families of children with and without disabilities. The Navy Exceptional Family Member (EFM) Respite Care through Easterseals brings in-home respite care for active-duty Navy families of children with disabilities.

Adult Day Services allows caregivers to take a break during the day while their loved one spends time at Easterseals. We provide engaging activities, medical care, and curb-to-curb transportation for adults, seniors, and veterans with disabilities. Our services are designed to support both the participant and caregiver.
