Easterseals Midwest Early Childhood Center Offers Early Intervention and Inclusive Education for Kansas City Children

Kansas City, MO -- The Easterseals Midwest Early Childhood Center is a preschool program for children from birth to five-years-old. Uniqued to Kansas City, the center offers children of all abilities a fully inclusive play-based learning environment.

As an Early Head Start and Head Start provider, the Early Childhood Center provides comprehensive services to support the mental, social, and emotional development of children, from infant to five-years-old. Under the direction of highly qualified and licensed teachers, the center offers a variety of early intervention services including physical, speech, and occupational therapies. The educational program also provides customized care for children with autism and is fully inclusive, meaning children of all abilities can learn together.

"Our center stands apart from others because we offer a low child-to-caregiver ratio in a safe, warm, and friendly environment. We are also fully inclusive, which gives children of all abilities the opportunity to grow with each other and learn from one another," said Holly Wilmes, Easterseals Midwest's Children's Services Director.

In 2011, The Early Childhood Center became an accredited program within the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), CARF accredited, and an Approved Private Agency through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

"In addition to a thriving educational environment, our center also offers state-of-the-art tools and programs for children with developmental needs," added Wilmes. "It's an optimal learning environment for all young children in Kansas City."
