Easter Seals Caregiver Support and Respite Services

Family caregivers dedicate their lives to their loved ones. Caregivers need help balancing their many responsibilities, but often lack the resources to find or pay for additional care.  Easter Seals Respite Services provide critical support to families who care for children with disabilities or special needs. With our help, parents get a break from caregiving duties, allowing them to focus on other family members, or themselves, while preventing burnout and keeping families whole. Caregivers also benefit from a connection with other caregivers, decreasing stress and isolation and providing additional emotional and social support.

Center-Based Respite Days:

Easter Seals offers respite days for children with disabilities or special needs, and their siblings, including military and Wounded Warrior families. These fun, activity oriented respite days support the child and family by providing one-on-one interaction between children and trained volunteers. The activities take place monthly at The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Inter-Generational Center in Silver Spring and include magicians, face painters, clowns, petting zoos and other engaging, hands-on activities.

Because this is based on the interest and availability of the volunteers, we cannot guarantee that all families who enroll in the program will be matched or how long it may take to find a match.

To enroll your child in the Program please click on the link and complete the enrollment form (there is no financial requirement to enroll). You may fax (301-920-9712), e-mail (respite@eseal.org) or mail the completed enrollment form to the following address:
