Young Yogis

Focused therapy programs are intended to allow children to address their therapeutic needs and goals amongst peers working on similar goals. The Young Yogis physical therapy program utilizes child-friendly yoga and meditation, including sustained poses and movement flows to address flexibility, strength, endurance, motor sequencing, coordinated breathing, and attention to task. This program promotes physical fitness in a calm (3-4 children) environment. Children are introduced to a building sequence of Vinyasa-style yoga poses followed by complex motor skill activities. This group is intended for children ages 7 and up.

Who Can Benefit?

Children with physical and sensory impairments who are walking independently and need to work on flexibility, whole-body strengthening, postural control, bilateral coordination, balance, motor planning, and endurance. Children should enjoy working in an environment with other children and be able to follow basic directions.
