Autism Therapy at Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability. Children with ASD may have difficulty with social communication/interaction and exhibit restrictive and/or repetitive patterns of behavior. People with ASD – at any age – can make significant progress through therapy and treatments, and can lead meaningful and productive lives. We understand that early diagnosis and early intervention are critical – early intervention leads to positive outcomes.

Easterseals offers many services for children with ASD. In addition to our core physical, occupational and speech-language therapies, we offer an Autism Diagnostic Clinic and other specialized clinics, medical partnerships, assistive technology (AT), inclusive daycare, and support for parents and siblings. With advanced clinical training on services including DIRFloortime, children with ASD will grow relationships with their caregivers and expand their emotional, social and cognitive skills.

Support for the Whole Family: Mental Health & Family Support Services

Our counseling services and support can help children better manage a wide variety of behavioral issues. The team consists of a psychologist and social workers who focuse on helping parents effectively deal with behavioral challenges by providing education, strategies, counseling, and support. Parents of young children often struggle with acting-out behaviors that can manifest at home, school or in public. Many challenging behaviors can be indicative of underlying needs, such as anxiety, stress or sensory struggles. Working with the entire family, our team can identify each child’s unique strengths and challenges and tailor a plan to meet those needs. Our Mental Health and Family Support Services can help children and their families thrive together.
