Make The First Five Count

The first five years of life are crucial to every child’s development.  That is why Easter Seals created Make the First Five Count®.  This program provides an online screening tool for families to assess their infant, toddler or young child’s development.  If delays are identified, we can offer the support needed to be school-ready and to build a foundation for a lifetime of learning. Research proves that, when children receive the right treatment and therapy they need before age five, they are more prepared to learn alongside their peers, build lifelong skills and achieve their dreams.

As a leading provider of outpatient pediatric rehabilitation services, our therapists and families know what’s possible when children receive the support they need – and also what happens when they don’t.  The first step is early identification and early intervention services, therapies that work to strengthen their physical, social, emotional and intellectual abilities at a very young age.

Why Begin Here?

Every infant and toddler should be screened for developmental delays and disabilities. Receiving the right support at the earliest stage of life can help a child gain the skills he or she needs to be successful.

How Do I Get Started?

The Ages & Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ) is a screening tool that helps evaluate how a child’s skills are developing in motor, communication, personal-social and problem-solving.
