We are grateful to our generous volunteers who share our belief that every child deserves to thrive in an inclusive community. There are many ways to get involved with Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley by sharing your skills, time and talent. We offer a range of volunteer projects and events throughout the year for individuals and groups.

Please introduce yourself and share your interests and availability via our prospective volunteer form. A member of our Development Team will be in touch to help match your inquiry to our current volunteer needs.

Individual Volunteering

INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER INTEREST FORM


Recurring and one-time volunteer activities vary by time of year and location. You may request one of the projects listed below or join our distribution list to be notified of other volunteer activities as they arise.

By completing the form and signing up to join our volunteer distribution list, you’ll be kept informed of other event opportunities throughout the year.

Administrative Tasks
Examples include: mailings, filing, scanning, data entry, organizing

Special Events
Annual fundraising events offer many opportunities to volunteer by joining planning committees, helping with preparations, and offering hands on support.

Superhero Hustle, Fall, Villa Park (Saturday)
Bike for the Kids, Late Summer, Elgin (Sunday)

Building Maintenance
Examples include: gardening, weeding, watering, groundskeeping, fix-it projects

Therapy Groups
This is a weekly commitment to support a therapy group at Easterseals, Villa Park. Programs run seasonally with the highest need in the summer months. Requirements: Ages 16+, Background Check and Orientation Required

Please complete the group volunteer interest form to learn more about group volunteer activities for colleagues, troops, and community organizations. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but opportunities may be limited by group size and availability.

Special Events
These annual fundraising events offer teambuilding volunteer activities for groups of all sizes including forming a cheering section, staffing a water station or rest stop, set-up/clean-up and more:

Superhero Hustle, Fall, Villa Park (Saturday)
Bike for the Kids, Late Summer, Elgin (Sunday)

Service Day
Participate in a seasonal clean up and landscaping project at our Villa Park location.

Host Your Own Project
Come together as a team to host an activity or assemble a giveaway for children at Easterseals. Provide inclusive games, activities, crafts or treats. Current examples include Trunk-or-Treat, Adapted Field Day, Egg Hunt.

Enhance Your Experience
Enhance your volunteer experience by adding on a Disability Awareness & Understanding presentation for your team.

Clinical Observation

CLINICAL OBSERVATION INQUIRY


Therapy departments offer clinical observation hours to students studying disciplines offered at Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley. Spots are limited and reserved for students with a school requirement for clinical observation experiences.

If we can accommodate your request, a background check and orientation will be required.

General Volunteer Information

When & Where
With the exception of events and select group projects, the majority of volunteer activities are hosted during business hours: M – F between 8AM and 6PM. Please indicate your availability in the volunteer interest form so we can alert you if projects are available outside of these hours.

Villa Park is the host site for most volunteer activities, though we may be able to accommodate some requests for our satellite locations in Naperville and Elgin. Certain projects can also be completed from home or off-site.

Requirements
Volunteers should expect to complete a background check, orientation, and sign Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley’s code of ethics and confidentiality statement.

Children are welcome to volunteer for age-appropriate activities under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
