If you have concerns about a child’s development, need support or have questions- contact us! Free developmental screenings are available and openings for services to help all children reach their maximum potential. The Ages & Stages Questionnaire is available for children ages 0-5.
As part of the Make the First Five Count campaign, Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley is proud to offer a free online Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) for children birth to age five thanks to the generous support of CVS Health. The ASQ will showcase your child's developmental milestones while uncovering any potential delays. Please note that milestones are continuous throughout a child's first five years of life. It is important to keep up with your child's progress by taking the ASQ every three months.
The ASQ contains 30 questions and takes about 15 minutes to complete. Once finished, the results are scored and reviewed by a member of the Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley team.
A variety of pediatric medical specialists partner with Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley therapists to provide specialized clinics, including autism and medical diagnostic clinics as well as specialty clinics for nutrition/feeding, respiratory and ambulatory needs. These clinics provide specific and individual care to best suit your child's needs outside of their normal therapy schedule. We take a multi-disciplinary approach to suit each child's individualized needs.
Excellent nutrition is one of the most basic requirements for a child to grow and thrive. Research shows that as many as 90% of children with a developmental disorder have at least one nutrition risk indicator. Nutrition problems can include failure to thrive, obesity, poor feeding skills, sensory disorders, and gastrointestinal disorders, to name only a few. Individuals with special needs are also more likely to develop co-existing medical conditions that require nutrition interventions.
Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley can now offer nutrition services for children, regardless of insurance, in areas currently underserved immediately north and west of DuPage County. This includes full financial support for those uninsured, underinsured or on Medicaid; and partial support for those in Early Intervention or with insurance. Children who qualify will receive a nutrition evaluation and follow up nutrition therapy as needed.
Qualifications for children (birth to 21 years of age) to receive this service include:
