A Dream Job for Adrien

Adrien Lands Her Dream Job Adrien came to Easterseals New Jersey’s Millville Program Center seeking help to obtain employment out in the community. She learned janitorial skills and advanced quickly through the program. Eventually, McDonald’s saw what a hard worker she was and hired her. However, this was only the first step towards her final goal. After working with Easterseals, she discovered her true calling.

A Life Changing Journey at Easter Seals

Sharon M Warren BHS “Just the fact that I was able to ride a bicycle makes me feel whole again,” says Sharon regarding the positive impact Easter Seals has had on her physical and mental wellbeing. After years of battling mental illness resulting in multiple hospital stays, Sharon was referred to an Easter Seals NJ Behavioral Health Services group home in Warren County in 2011.

AJ Hits the Road to Independence

Life's Moments - Learning to Drive Unless you live in the city, driving a vehicle is something that’s a necessity for most of us, a major factor in our daily independence. But if you are unable to read, simply obtaining a driver’s permit can seem like an insurmountable obstacle.

AJ, a program participant at Easter Seals NJ’s employment facility in Millville, has disabilities that made learning to read difficult. “It was terrible because no one wanted to teach me,” he says. “And if I didn’t learn how to read, I never would have even thought about taking my driver’s permit test.”

Easterseals NJ Helps Eloisa Turn Her Life Around at Age 65!

Eloisa Hunterdon Spotlight It’s never too late to have your life completely changed for the better. At 65 years old, homeless and unemployed, Easterseals NJ helped Eloisa do just that. Eloisa, whose primary language is Spanish, had always desired to become fluent in English, and aspired to earn a certification in child care which she hoped would eventually lead to a full time job with health care benefits.

Jeremey's Amazing Journey

Health Jeremy Jeremey’s journey with Easterseals began in May of 2012 when he first arrived at one of our Behavioral Health Services group homes in Hunterdon County.

After battling an extensive past of drug addiction, multiple hospitalizations for mental illness and chemical dependence, and homelessness, when Jeremey first arrived he felt that one of his biggest challenges would be resisting his urges and triggers to use drugs. He was fearful of possible relapses and knew that the community would present challenges in maintaining his sobriety.

John Achieves Independece Having struggled with the effects of premature birth resulting in both physical disabilities and mental illness, John has lived his entire life with his parents. But now – at the age of forty-three, thanks to the help of Easterseals, John is finally able to experience something that most people take for granted – a chance at independence.

Marine Veteran Overcomes Homelessness and Depression With The Help of Easterseals New Jersey

Marine Frank Story Frank was wounded twice during his service in the United States Marine Corps and saw combat in three countries during his eight years of service. While his wounds may have healed, he returned home with a different enemy, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
