Apraxia of Speech Intensives

Focused therapy programs are intended to allow children to address their therapeutic needs and goals amongst peers working on similar goals. In this program, Speech-Language Pathologists use an evidence-based practice to support oral motor coordination, the saliency of vocabulary targets, repetition through play, and augmentative supports to help children with apraxia of speech to communicate with others. This intensive program provides many benefits with targeted practice daily along with home programming for improved outcomes.

Who Should Participate?

Children between the ages of 1.5 through 10 years who demonstrate one or two of the following communication concerns: limited verbal repertoire, difficulty producing a variety of consonant and vowel combinations, becoming frustrated trying to communicate their interests, highly unintelligible, and making inconsistent errors.  Caregivers must be willing to provide 10-20 minutes of daily home exercises during this intensive and be present during therapy sessions.

To Improve:

  • Speech intelligibility of meaningful words to the child
