Supporting our Sons and Daughters: Parents as Caregivers of Veterans and Service Members

Are you a Parent caring for your child who is a Service Member or Veteran? This webinar is an hour-long educational webinar offering practical support. The webinar features Caregiver Annie Remsburg of Gilbert, Arizona.  Annie cares for her son, Army Ranger Sgt. 1st Class Cory Remsburg. Annie covers topics ranging from self-care to long-term care planning.

Annie worked for over 20 years as a management representative. When Cory was injured, Annie used the available benefits of Family Medical Leave Act, until a decision was made for a more permanent solution. Annie quit her employment to care for Cory for over 1 1/2 years remotely in Florida. When Cory transitioned to an in-patient status, Annie returned to work and continued to work her position while traveling and caring for Cory until November of 2014 when she gave up her job due to medical issues.

Annie continues as a non-medical attendant coordinating doctors appointments, medicine oversight, and lots of TLC. Annie is currently living at Cory's residence to give him personal assistance as needed.
