The Behavior Specialist will fill a critical role in the expansion of Positive Behavior Supports within Easterseals. The Behavior Specialist’s primary role involves providing Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Positive Behavior Support Plans. The Behavior Specialist will assess an individual and develop a complete plan, which outlines support strategies to address specific target behaviors as identified in the assessment process. The Behavior Specialist will be responsible for training school staff on all aspects of the support plan and will be responsible for providing on-going consultation around implementation of plans and monitoring of behavioral interventions. This position also involves working closely with IEP teams and completion of related IEP paperwork. The Behavior Specialist will provide leadership to our school programs in the area of behavior management, through advising therapeutic/teaching staff in implementation of behavior plans and offering relevant training throughout the agency.
The Behavior Specialist must have a Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field as well as have experience developing behavioral support plans for young children with behavioral concerns. They must currently have the Behavior Specialist License for the state of Pennsylvania. A commitment to serving individuals with severely challenging behaviors in the school setting is essential, as well as a strong background in serving students with autism and neurological impairments.

Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania is seeking full-time Behavior Therapy Assistants to support the behavior and educational services provided to students in our Approved Private School programs and contracted charter schools. Our school programs service young children with severe and complex disabilities including autism, physical disabilities, and communication limitations; the charter school programs service school-age children with emotional disturbances, trauma, and developmental delays. This position may include travel to our additional school sites in Philadelphia and the suburbs, as well as charter schools within the metro Philadelphia area.
The Behavior Therapy Assistant will fill a critical role in the expansion of Positive Behavior Supports within Easterseals. The primary role involves implementing strategies as outlined in Positive Behavior Support Plans which could include but are not limited to providing direct instruction based on the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior (ABA/VB). The Behavior Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS). This individual will need to demonstrate flexibility in that they may be serving one student at a time or be supporting a classroom teacher in an assistant role.

Essential duties include managing student documentation, providing appropriate medical care and medication administration, as well as coordinating with staff in the program. Daily responsibilities include first aid and illness assessment, emergency care when needed, administering medications, completing feedings and other medically necessary procedures, consulting with staff members as well as administration, coordinating with private duty nurses, maintaining medical records, assisting families with medical questions and medical documentation needed, and other duties as needed.

Fulltime and part-time positions are available to transport preschool children with special needs to and from our school locations. The Driver positions involve Monday through Friday for scheduled days of programs during the school year plus a 6-week summer program. Morning, mid-day and/or afternoon runs are available.
Responsibilities are to transport preschool-aged students with disabilities effectively and safely to and from school on a daily basis. Attendants are on each vehicle to address the children's needs.
