Our Speech Language Pathologists offer support and services to children in our own Early Intervention Center, Approved Private School, and Friendship Academy classroom programs as well as charter school and community-based environments.      Teacher Openings

    Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania seeks energetic and passionate PDE certified Teachers to serve young children with disabilities within our specialized integrated preschool programs throughout the regional area. Teacher positions include Approved Private School, Early Intervention Center, and Friendship Academy classrooms.

    Our center-based programs educate children ages 3-6 with disabilities. Essential duties include classroom instruction, supervising Teacher Assistant staff in the classroom, working with IEP’s to achieve the student’s goals, and collaborating with Therapists, staff members, and administration. We strive to hire those who are passionate about the pediatric special needs population, have strong communications skills, enjoy a team environment and want to make a difference in the lives of those they assist. This position involves the school year plus a 5 or 6-week summer program.

    We are looking for Teachers who can create fun, engaging and literacy/play-based lessons. This position offers the right candidate an opportunity to become part of our multi-disciplinary supportive team working with children with disabilities and their families.

     Behavior Specialist Openings

    Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania seeks energetic and passionate Behavior Specialist to serve young children with disabilities throughout the five-county regional area. The school-based and community-based programs service young children with severe and complex disabilities including autism, physical disabilities, and communication limitations.     The Behavior Specialist will fill a critical role in the expansion of Positive Behavior Supports within Easterseals. The Behavior Specialist’s primary role involves providing Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Positive Behavior Support Plans. The Behavior Specialist will assess an individual and develop a complete plan, which outlines support strategies to address specific target behaviors as identified in the assessment process.  The Behavior Specialist will be responsible for training school staff on all aspects of the support plan and will be responsible for providing on-going consultation around implementation of plans and monitoring of behavioral interventions. This position also involves working closely with IEP teams and completion of related IEP paperwork. The Behavior Specialist will provide leadership to our school programs in the area of behavior management, through advising therapeutic/teaching staff in implementation of behavior plans and offering relevant training throughout the agency.

    The Behavior Specialist must have a Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field as well as have experience developing behavioral support plans for young children with behavioral concerns. They must currently have the Behavior Specialist License for the state of Pennsylvania. A commitment to serving individuals with severely challenging behaviors in the school setting is essential, as well as a strong background in serving students with autism and neurological impairments.

    Current Behavior Specialist openings include:

    • Kulpsville/Levittown, PA - school-based 3-5 therapy
    • Northeast Philadelphia, PA - charter school k-8 therapy

    Qualifications include:

    • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field required. 
    • Pennsylvania LBS required.
    • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred; candidates enrolled in a program with a BCBA approved course sequence will be considered; BCBA supervision available.
    • Prior experience with Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) preferred.
    • Experience in a school-based and early childhood settings preferred.
    • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
    • Prior crisis prevention/intervention training preferred.

     Behavior Therapy Assistant Openings

    Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania is seeking full-time Behavior Therapy Assistants to support the behavior and educational services provided to students in our Approved Private School programs and contracted charter schools.   Our school programs service young children with severe and complex disabilities including autism, physical disabilities, and communication limitations; the charter school programs service school-age children with emotional disturbances, trauma, and developmental delays. This position may include travel to our additional school sites in Philadelphia and the suburbs, as well as charter schools within the metro Philadelphia area.

    The Behavior Therapy Assistant will fill a critical role in the expansion of Positive Behavior Supports within Easterseals. The primary role involves implementing strategies as outlined in Positive Behavior Support Plans which could include but are not limited to providing direct instruction based on the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior (ABA/VB).  The Behavior Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS). This individual will need to demonstrate flexibility in that they may be serving one student at a time or be supporting a classroom teacher in an assistant role.

    Current Behavior Therapy Assistant openings include

    • Northeast Philadelphia, PA- charter school therapy
    • Media, PA - part-time afternoon school-based program

    Qualifications include:

    • Associate degree or higher in a related field required.
    • Experience working with children with special needs and/or challenging behavior preferred.
    • CPR/First aid certification preferred.
    • Reliable transportation is required for possible travel to additional school sites.

The successful candidate must have the ability to assist the classroom Teacher with working on educational goals and implementing strategies as well as assisting with the daily routine of implementing the preschool program in a safe environment. This position involves the school year plus a 5 or 6-week summer program.

     Nurse Openings

    Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania seeks energetic and passionate Nurses to serve young children with disabilities within our specialized integrated preschool programs throughout the regional area. The Nurse will provide medical support to preschool-aged children, some with significant disabilities and medical needs, attending the Approved Private School, Early Intervention Center, and/or Friendship Academy classroom programs.

    Essential duties include managing student documentation, providing appropriate medical care and medication administration, as well as coordinating with staff in the program. Daily responsibilities include first aid and illness assessment, emergency care when needed, administering medications, completing feedings and other medically necessary procedures, consulting with staff members as well as administration, coordinating with private duty nurses, maintaining medical records, assisting families with medical questions and medical documentation needed, and other duties as needed.

    This position provides an excellent opportunity to be employed within a well-established program as part of our support team working with children with disabilities.

    Qualifications include:

    • Pennsylvania RN or LPN license required.

     Bus and Van Drivers Openings

    Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania seeks energetic School Bus and School Van Drivers for our Transportation department. Fulltime and part-time positions are available to transport preschool children with special needs to and from our school locations. The Driver positions involve Monday through Friday for scheduled days of programs during the school year plus a 6-week summer program.  Morning, mid-day and/or afternoon runs are available.

    Responsibilities are to transport preschool-aged students with disabilities effectively and safely to and from school on a daily basis. Attendants are on each vehicle to address the children's needs. Our Drivers have a passion for helping young children with special needs, play a key role in the daily lives of the children we serve, and are in a unique position to help make a difference for Easterseals students.

       Bus and Van Attendants Openings

      Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania seeks energetic School Bus and School Van Attendants for our Transportation department. Fulltime and part-time positions are available to assist with the transport of preschool children with special needs to and from our school locations. The Attendant positions involve Monday through Friday for scheduled days of programs during the school year plus a 6-week summer program. 

      Responsibilities include assisting pre-school aged students with disabilities entering and exiting the school bus, ensuring their safety before and during transportation, and adhering to all required guidelines. The ability to build rapport and trust with the students is very important.

        • ESY Teacher- Eagleville

        • ESY MCIU classroom instruction for students ages 5-21 with disabilities. This Extended School Year program instructs students ages 5-21 with disabilities in a classroom setting and runs Monday through Thursday for six weeks beginning at the end of June. The successful candidate will have the ability to assist the classroom Special Education Teacher with working on educational goals and implementing strategies for children with disabilities.
