Trauma Focused Infant and Early Childhood Program

Infants and children who experience chronic stress or trauma are four times more likely to develop a mental health disorder by the time they reach adulthood than children who did not experience emotional trauma in childhood. Without recognizing and treating for trauma children are at increased risk for physical and emotional development concerns. This is why Easterseals is implementing a comprehensive infant and early childhood mental health program for children, ages 0 to 6 years, who have experienced chronic stress or trauma.

The program will include prevention, screening, early intervention and treatment services for children and their parents/caregivers.

We will implement this program in four Michigan counties:

  • Genesee
  • Kent
  • Macomb
  • Oakland
