Advisory Councils of Easterseals

People are Talking, Easterseals is Listening

If you or someone you care about is receiving services at Easterseals, we want to hear from you. Every Easterseals program site has an advisory council or focus groups – made up of persons served, their family members and other interested parties – that meet regularly to provide feedback regarding our services. Every suggestion made by these groups is reviewed by the agency’s administrators and Board of Directors and often result in changes that improve the quality of our services. Participants are informed of any improvements that are made because of their ideas.

Get Involved to Make a Difference

In addition to providing suggestions about our services, advisory council members may also get involved in the following ways:

• Volunteer to assist with special projects coordinated by the council, such as voter registration drives and council member recruitment efforts

• Volunteer or participate in Easterseals events, such as walks, rallies, fund-raisers, etc.

• Learn more about mental health from guest speakers and improve your advocacy skills

• Review the agency’s outcomes, including satisfaction survey results

• Provide input to the agency’s annual quality improvement plan

• Submit articles and/or artwork to the consumer newsletter

• Provide input by attending the Easterseals Board of Director or special committee meetings
