Eileen Blog Profile

Eileen Dombrowski assists in monitoring and analyzing federal legislation and regulations affecting children with

disabilities and their families, particularly in the areas of autism, early intervention, early childhood education, special education and budget and appropriations.

Prior to joining Easterseals, Eileen was Program Coordinator at the U.S. International Council on Disabilities, where she was heavily involved in the advocacy for the U.S. Ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.  Eileen has an undergraduate and graduate degree in early childhood special education from the University of Maryland and has taught special education at public and charter schools in Washington, D.C.

Eileen has completed two periods of service with the Peace Corps. While serving in Romania, she worked with children living in institutions and helped develop educational programs for children with autism. While living in West Africa, Eileen developed the first school library in the rural village of Sibanor, The Gambia, and encouraged its use as a teaching tool.

Outside of the office, Eileen is a foodie, dog lover and karaoke aficionado.
