Community Impact Award

If you know a person, company, or organization that does tremendous acts in our community for people with disabilities or special needs, nominate them for the Community Impact Award!

We will not only present them with an award they can proudly display but we'll also make sure they are properly recognized on this website and on Easterseals Michigan social media pages.

Here is how to submit a nomination:

Send their name and the way they help the community to Craig Sharum at csharum@essmichigan.org.

Here are some of our recent recipients of this award:

Easterseals Michigan awarded the Community Impact Award  to John Welker at the Cheers Gala on November 30, 2018.  John passed away this past June.  Helping children in need was John’s passion, and we appreciate his support over the years.  In addition to Easterseals, John supported the Rainbow Connection, Clarkston SCAMP, The Carls Family YMCA, the Kirk Gibson Foundation, U-Cancer-Vive, and Community Sharing.  In John’s true fashion, there were also many other contributions, all done quietly.  It is for this reason that we are proud to give our Community Impact Award in John’s memory. John was very fond of Emily “Punky” Lickman when he met her as the child ambassador in 2015, and she presented the award to John’s family.

Novi High School football coach, Jeff Burnside (center), recieved the award for his leadership role in providing opportunities for children and young adults in the community with disabilities to participate in football.
