Peer Connections® is a transition program offered in the Wasatch Front and St. George, Utah and in Billings, Montana. It is designed to help students ages 16-22 with significant social communication issues establish and enhance their relational skills, while exploring work and career activities along side a similar age Peer Partner. The purpose of the program is to help students develop skills to become more employable and find success as they transition into adulthood.
Peer Partners are paired with a student with a social communication disorder and assigned to a not-for profit volunteer site with up to three other student pairs. Peer Partners need to be able to commit to 3 hours of volunteer job training a week for 9 weeks. The responsibilities and benefits for participating include:
