The grant, which will be used to hire additional therapists, will help meet the overwhelming needs of children and families who are already receiving services as well as offer services to those waiting on the expansive wait list.

“Thanks to the Donnie Williams Foundation, we will be able to meet the needs of even more children. The fact that our program is so full with a long waitlist shows the great need for these children and their families,” Easterseals President/CEO, Ken Sklenar, said. “We are proud to partner with foundations like Donnie Williams to serve families in the area who will benefit from these services.”

Currently, Salisbury Children's Therapy is the largest provider of physical, speech and occupational therapy on the Eastern Shore. A trusted provider of children’s therapy services for more than 70 years, Easterseals specializes in treating children ages birth through eighteen years with a variety of challenges. Children with and without disabilities will find the highest quality services designed to meet their individual needs. Easterseals specializes in meeting the needs of children, like James, and their families through creative, playful activities that go beyond traditional services.

Donnie Williams, a proud Maryland native, believed in giving back to the communities which gave him so much throughout his life. He reaped the benefits of a structured, traditional education program in his youth and wanted to ensure other students had the same opportunities. With this goal in mind, he created The Donnie Williams Foundation to support schools and IRS-qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the Maryland counties of St. Mary's, Wicomico and Worcester and the children of this region.
