Early intervention services help young children with disabilities achieve their goals in cognitive, social/emotional, communicative, adaptive and physical development. Services may include occupational therapy to help an infant learn to hold her bottle, physical therapy to help her learn to roll over, or speech therapy to help her learn to eat. Most early intervention services take place in the home or, in the case of working parents, at child care facilities in the local community.

Physical Therapy: Are you concerned about your child’s ability to sit, crawl, walk or jump? Our pediatric Physical Therapists focus on improving overall strength, balance, coordination and mobility so children can successfully play with their peers.
Occupational Therapy: Is your child having trouble grasping objects, which could lead to handwriting challenges in the future? Our pediatric Occupational Therapists work to promote independence for a child’s ‘occupation’, including play skills, self-care and sensory processing.
Speech Language Therapy: Are you worried your child’s speech isn’t developing as it should be? Our pediatric speech pathologists promote natural speech and language using developmentally appropriate toys. We encourage peer interaction to enhance language and social skills.
Feeding Therapy: Does your child have difficulty swallowing or challenges with eating? Our therapists help children learn to eat different types of textures of foods, using either a sensory or behavioral approach.
Early Childhood Education: Are you child’s behaviors or social skills of concern? Our early childhood educators work with parents and children, birth to 3 years-old, to develop their play skills and behavior.
Telehealth: Easterseals is currently offering in-person services in our centers, as well as community-based appointments for our families in Early Intervention in homes and childcare centers. Additionally, we continue to deliver services via telehealth if the family prefers. New families looking into services for their children should reach out to the Easterseals location closest to them to inquire about therapy services.
Easterseals Camp Fairlee: Easterseals Camp Fairlee offers campers of ages six and older a safe and accessible camp experience where they are challenged to discover their full potential. Campers acquire new skills, friendships, and a lifetime of memories, while parents and caregivers enjoy a break from continuous care responsibilities.
