Easter Seals Honors Ernie Dianastasis For His Advocacy For People With Disabilities

Annual Dinner Also Kicks Off Capital Campaign for Easter Seals Camp Fairlee

Ernie Dianastasis, longtime board member of Easter Seals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore, will be recognized at the 2016 Easter Seals Annual Dinner on Thursday, October 13 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. The dinner also will kick off the capital campaign for Easter Seals Camp Fairlee with the help of the Needles family from Newark. A cocktail reception will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Easter Seals, a leading provider of services for children and adults with disabilities and their families, will present Dianastasis with the Drex Jones Volunteer Award for his extraordinary service to people with disabilities in the region. The award is given to an individual in recognition of sustained efforts that have had a significant impact on the quality of life for people with disabilities. Dianastasis has been a dedicated and active member of the board for 15 years, serving as Board Chair as well as on key committees, including the CAI / Easter Seals Volleyball Challenge Committee.

Camp Fairlee, located outside of Chestertown, Maryland, offers children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to experience the year-round fun and adventure of camp in a safe and accessible environment. The family of Camp Fairlee camper, Mark Needles, will share their experience at the dinner.
