Ask Rett Larimore why he’s so involved in the community and he’ll say, “I love to give back!” Thanks to a variety of Easterseals services, Rett is empowered to pursue his passion for helping others.

Rett has been a resident of Easterseals Rehabilitation Center Group Homes since 1987. He enjoys his home’s warm, family-like atmosphere and likes the residential neighborhood where it’s located.

Rett also appreciates that the staff provides 24-hour assistance with medical and personal care needs. That’s especially important to Rett because he has spina bifida and uses a wheelchair. He also utilizes the Easterseals transportation service to keep up with his busy schedule. He attends the Easterseals Aspire day program every weekday to work on personal goals and enjoy social and recreational activities. Rett’s weekly calendar typically includes worship at Crossroads Christian Church and meetings of the Green River Kiwanis Club.

Among his many commitments, Rett is a dedicated volunteer for Easterseals, because he wants to help other local people achieve their goals. He raises funds for the Easterseals Telethon, which helps to provide inclusive early education and essential therapy services for Tri-State children and adults with disabilities. Rett also greets Telethon visitors and shares his story on the annual broadcast.

Rett also advocates for his fellow Easterseals Group Home residents and is an assistant recruiter at Group Home job fairs. He said, “I just feel very blessed that I’m part of the Easterseals crew.”
