The Easterseals Lifespan Respite Program helps caregivers pay for respite care through three grant programs. These grant programs allow caregivers to pay a trusted relative, friend, neighbor, etc. to watch their loved one while they take a break from their caregiving responsibilities for a brief period or even an extended vacation. If you are caring for a child with special needs or disabilities; and/or an adult with special needs, disabilities, or conditions of aging then you may be eligible to apply for financial assistance.
All applications are processed in the order in which they are received until funding is fully obligated. Depending upon the funding sources, applications are reviewed by our Financial Assistance Review Committee which is comprised of members from organizations and state agencies, not Easterseals staff.
Once your application is submitted, you should receive notification from Easterseals within two weeks with further resources and information. Volume is typically higher at the beginning of our funding year (typically mid-September) which may result in slight delays in notification. Contact Easterseals Lifespan Respite Program at 302-221-2087 or resources@esdel.org with any questions.
